We believe fashion is more than just clothing. We see it as a vehicle for change. Together at notahorse, we are turning textiles into tools to stand for freedom and against the injustice of modern slavery. As the volunteer team behind notahorse, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of respect, valuing every individual, and operating with deep consideration for each other and the environment. We embrace transparency, seek visionary and unconventional paths in the textile industry, and always put people — their needs, dreams, and dignity — at the heart of everything we do.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our King. Yet when He entered Jerusalem, He did not come on a war horse, but humbly on a donkey.
This image matters to us. Jesus modeled a Kingdom shaped by humility, compassion, and love. In the same way, we do not want to look down on people in need, but to meet them at eye level.
Our name is a reminder that true strength is not found in power or status, but in justice, dignity, and restoration.

"I grew up in Germany and moved to the US with my wife, Michaela, in 2018. We started Not a Horse in Germany in 2014 and brought it to the US in 2022. We believe that God cares deeply about justice, and we feel called to allow Him to use us to let His Kingdom come. In my day job, I work as a physician-scientist with cancer patients."

"I grew up in Germany, where I trained and worked as a nurse for many years. I am married to Jens, and together we moved to the US in 2018. I now work as a personal trainer, primarily with cancer patients, helping them improve their strength, function, and confidence in daily life. My vision is to see fair and sustainable clothing in every wardrobe."

"I live in North Idaho with my family and work in the electrical trade. My faith calls me to put love, justice, and service into action. I am grateful to do that in a small way by helping Not a Horse share its mission of fair and sustainable clothing that supports dignity and opportunity."
